Description
Learn the basics of using a filament 3D printer to support entrepreneurship programming in your school. This 3D printer may be one that is located at your school or another easily accessible location such as a library, or Invent2Make can provide remote access to one of our Invent3D printers housed in our makerspace. Over two 2-hour training sessions, you will learn what 3D printing is, how 3D printers work, and how a project moves from an idea to the printer. You will learn how to set up, operate and maintain a 3d printer, as well as some common trouble-shooting techniques. You will learn how to use a printer’s slicer software, including how to import a design file, how to arrange the build platform, and which settings and parameters should be modified depending on your print. You will learn about the various filament material types that are compatible with the printer and their use cases. Finally, you will create and print a sample project using the printer.
